Regular Season Round 28: Ironi Nahariya - Bnei Hertzeliyya 87-104
Date: April 20, 2015
Rather expected game when 10th ranked Ironi Nahariya (11-17) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Bnei Hasharon (13-15) 104-87. The game was mostly controlled by Bnei Hasharon. Ironi Nahariya was better in second period 25-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bnei Hasharon players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. The winners were led by international point guard Yuval Naimy (188-85) who scored that evening 28 points and 7 assists and American power forward Julian Wright (203-87, college: Kansas, agency: Alti Sport) supported him with 19 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Bnei Hasharon players scored in double figures. Even 24 points and 5 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) by American guard Mark Lyons (185-89, college: Arizona) did not help to save the game for Ironi Nahariya. His fellow American import John Williamson (200-86, college: Cincinnati, agency: Inception Sports) added 23 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Bnei Hasharon moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Maccabi Haifa and Hapoel Eilat. Newly promoted Ironi Nahariya keeps the tenth position with 17 games lost. Bnei Hasharon will play against Maccabi Ashdod (#11) at home in the next round. Ironi Nahariya will play against Maccabi Haifa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
