The game between closely ranked teams ended with sixth ranked STB Le Havre's (17-12) home victory over 7th ranked Chalons-Reims (15-14) 80-76 on Monday. Chalons-Reims was trailing by 7 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 25-19 charge of STB Le Havre, which allowed them to win the game. Vincentian center Shawn King (208-82, college: ORU) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and the former international Hugo Invernizzi (197-93) chipped in 20 points. Swingman Michel Morandais (196-79, college: Colorado) responded with 24 points and 6 rebounds and American swingman Mark Payne (203-88, college: Cal-Davis) scored 10 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Five STB Le Havre and four Chalons-Reims players scored in double figures. STB Le Havre moved-up to fourth place, which they share with ASVEL and Nancy. Newly promoted Chalons-Reims keeps the seventh position with 14 games lost. STB Le Havre will face JL Bourg (#17) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Chalons-Reims will play against the league's leader Strasbourg IG (#1) and hope to win that game.
