Regular Season Round 9: Hermosillo - Mazatlan 69-75

Very predictable result when third ranked Lobos UAD Mazatlan (6-2) defeated on the road 9th ranked Rayos de Hermosillo (2-7) 75-69 on Tuesday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Rayos de Hermosillo won third quarter 18-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American swingman Vincent Grier (195-83, college: Minnesota) who scored 20 points and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Ronald Selleaze (197-76, college: CSU Bakersfield) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four Lobos UAD Mazatlan players scored in double figures. Lobos UAD Mazatlan's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Emmanuel Little (196-85, college: N.Dakota) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Jorge Camacho (203-89, college: E.Kentucky) added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Lobos UAD Mazatlan moved-up to second place. Loser Rayos de Hermosillo keeps the ninth position with seven games lost. Lobos UAD Mazatlan will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rayos de Hermosillo will play again against the league's second-placed Lobos UAD Mazatlan (#2) and hope to secure a win.
