Very expected game when 13th ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (11-18) was defeated on the road by third ranked Limoges CSP Elite (20-9) 96-89 on Tuesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Pau-Lacq-Orthez won third quarter 24-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Limoges CSP Elite dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Pau-Lacq-Orthez's 22. Limoges CSP Elite shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. International forward Nobel Boungou-Colo (202-88) stepped up and scored 23 points for the winners and the former international forward Adrien Moerman (203-88) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four Limoges CSP Elite players scored in double figures. American forward Antywane Robinson (203-84, college: Temple) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Serbian forward Marko Simonovic (201-86, agency: Beo Basket) scored 31 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending champion maintains third place with 20-9 record having five points less than leader Strasbourg. Pau-Lacq-Orthez lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 18 games lost. Limoges CSP Elite will face Entente Orleans 45 (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will play against Paris-Levallois and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
