The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Ostioneros de Guaymas (9-1) on the court of fourth ranked Caballeros de Culiacan on Wednesday night. Visitors were edged by Caballeros de Culiacan 81-79. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Ostioneros de Guaymas. Ostioneros de Guaymas were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. CC) chipped in 24 points during the contest. Laudermill is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Caballeros de Culiacan's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American guard Gregory Howard (193-89, college: Walsh) responded with 26 points and his fellow American import center Jerome Habel (208-85, college: San Diego St.) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Caballeros de Culiacan maintains fourth position with 6-4 record. Ostioneros de Guaymas at the other side still keep top place with one game lost. Caballeros de Culiacan are looking forward to face Tijuana Zonkeys (#7) on the road in the next round. Ostioneros de Guaymas will play against Garra Canera de Navolato (#6) and are hoping to win this game.
