Semi-Finals Game 1: Abdullah Gul - Fenerbahce 78-70

Abdullah Gul held off Fenerbahce in the opening game of the semifinal series. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-15. But Fenerbahce won second period 25-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Abdullah Gul won last quarter 18-11. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Fenerbahce's 40. International LaToya Sanders (191-86, college: N.Carolina) stepped up and scored 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and American point guard Lindsay Whalen (175-82, college: Minnesota) chipped in 14 points. Four Abdullah Gul players scored in double figures. At the losing side American center Tina Charles (193-88, college: Connecticut) responded with 21 points and 7 rebounds and American-Croatian guard Shavonte Zellous (178-86, college: Pittsburgh) scored 15 points and 5 assists.
