Regular Season Round 29: Hapoel T-A - Hapoel Eilat 54-66

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (14-15) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Hapoel Eilat (14-15) 66-54. It looked good early as Hapoel Tel-Aviv took a 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Hapoel Eilat took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 12 points. American Kevin Palmer (198-87, college: Texas A&M-CC, agency: Comsport) nailed a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and Jamaican-American power forward Adrian Uter (200-84, college: Hofstra) accounted for 15 points and 9 rebounds. Four Hapoel Eilat players scored in double figures. American-Jamaican swingman Durand Scott (196-90, college: Miami, FL) came up with 16 points and 7 rebounds and American power forward Yancy Gates (206-89, college: Cincinnati) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Hapoel Tel-Aviv in the defeat. Hapoel Tel-Aviv's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Hapoel Eilat moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Hapoel T-A and Maccabi Haifa. Hapoel Tel-Aviv lost their fourth game in a row. Hapoel Eilat's next round opponent will be Ironi Nahariya (#10) at home which should be theoretically an easy game. Hapoel Tel-Aviv will play against Maccabi Rishon (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
