Regular Season Round 46: Toshiba BT - Hyogo S. 94-89

The game between Top Four teams took place in Kanagawa. Third ranked host Toshiba Thunders (38-13) defeated one of their biggest challengers Hyogo S. (17-33) 94-89. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 32-29. But Hyogo S. won second period 23-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Toshiba Thunders shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. The former international swingman Naoto Tsuji (185-89) scored 34 points (!!!) to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) chipped in 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side American center Isaac Butts (208-89, college: Appalachian St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman William Knight (196-79, college: UCLA) scored 28 points and 6 rebounds. Five Toshiba Thunders and four Hyogo S. players scored in double figures. Toshiba Thunders have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains third position with 38-13 record having five points less than leader Hitachi SR. Loser Hyogo S. keeps the fourth place with 33 games lost. Toshiba Thunders will face Toyota Alvark (#4) in Tokyo in the next round. Hyogo S. will play on the road against Wakayama T. and hope to win that game.
