The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Trotamundos' (17-12) road loss to fourth ranked Cocodrilos (19-12) 77-83. Trotamundos were ahead by 5 points at the halftime before a 41-30 second half run of Cocodrilos. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Carl Elliott (193-83, college: G.Washington) who led the winners and scored 27 points and 4 assists. His fellow American import power forward Walter Sharpe (206-86, college: UAB) accounted for 20 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Four Cocodrilos players scored in double figures. Power forward Jesus Martinez (204-86) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and the former international point guard David Cubillan (181-87, college: Marquette) added 11 points and 9 assists respectively for Trotamundos in the defeat. Trotamundos' coach Gustavo Aranzana tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Cocodrilos maintains fourth place with 19-12 record. Trotamundos at the other side keep the fifth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Guaiqueries. Cocodrilos will again play against Trotamundos (#5) in Valencia in the next round. Trotamundos will have a break next round.
