Regular Season Round 30: Rouen - Boulogne 98-84

There was no surprise when 18th ranked SO Maritime Boulogne (5-25) was defeated on the road by fourteenth ranked SPO Rouen (12-18) 98-84 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 55-39 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. SPO Rouen looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by SO Maritime Boulogne's players. The best player for the winners was the former international center Alain Koffi (207-83, agency: Beo Basket) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Jean-Michel Mipoka (198-85, agency: Comsport) chipped in 21 points. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international Stephen Brun (202-80) who recorded a double-double by scoring 10 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists and naturalized Greek Angelo Tsagarakis (190-84) added 18 points respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. SPO Rouen moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Pau-Lacq-Orthez and Cholet. SO Maritime Boulogne lost eighth consecutive game. SO Maritime Boulogne at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay dead last with 25 lost games. SPO Rouen will face higher ranked Chalon/Saor (#12) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. SO Maritime Boulogne will play against Gravelines-Dunkerque (#7) and hope to win that game.
