Regular Season Round 30: Poitiers - Nantes 80-90

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Nantes (18-12) defeated on the road 12th ranked Poitiers (12-18) 90-80 on Friday. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 15-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 90-80. The best player for the winners was American power forward Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Bible) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. The other American import swingman Marcus Relphorde (198-88, college: Colorado) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. Durham is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Nantes players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Carl Ona-Embo (185-89) who recorded 22 points and 6 assists and Kevin Harley (192-94) added 17 points and 6 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Nantes have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Denain. Loser Poitiers dropped to the thirteenth position with 18 games lost. Nantes will face Charleville-Mezieres (#16) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Poitiers will play against Boulazac Basket and hope to win that game.
