Regular Season Round 54: Fukuoka Rizing - Takamatsu FA 86-102

Rather expected game when 10th ranked Fukuoka Rizing (13-39) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Takamatsu FA (17-35) 102-86 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Takamatsu FA. Fukuoka Rizing was better in second period 26-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Takamatsu FA especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American swingman Dexter Lyons (198-81, college: Cent.Florida, agency: I.D.S. Law) scored 22 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import swingman Justin Watts (196-90, college: N.Carolina) chipped in 23 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida, agency: Court Side) with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Minoru Kimura (185-82) scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Takamatsu FA have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain eighth position with 17-35 record. Fukuoka Rizing lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with 39 games lost. Takamatsu FA will have a break next round. Fukuoka Rizing will play again at home against Takamatsu FA (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
