Regular Season Round 40: Cocodrilos - Trotamundos 60-79

Date: April 25, 2015
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Caracas where one of their biggest challengers Cocodrilos (19-13) were crushed by fifth ranked Trotamundos (18-12) 79-60 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Trotamundos. Cocodrilos managed to win fourth quarter 13-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Trotamundos made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard David Cubillan (181-87, college: Marquette) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists and American Dar Tucker (193-88, college: De Paul) who added 25 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American guard Carl Elliott (193-83, college: G.Washington) responded with 8 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals and his fellow American import power forward Walter Sharpe (206-86, college: UAB) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Trotamundos maintains fifth position with 18-12 record, which they share with Guaiqueries. Cocodrilos at the other side keep the fourth place with 13 games lost. Trotamundos will meet Panteras (#9) in the next round. Cocodrilos will have a break next round.
