Regular Season Round 54: Fukushima - Shinshu BW 89-77

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Fukushima and 8th ranked Shinshu BW had identical 19-31 record. This time Fukushima used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Nagano 89-77 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Fukushima. Shinshu BW was better in fourth quarter 27-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fukushima forced 20 Shinshu BW turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American guard Verdell Jones III (195-89, college: Indiana) had a double-double by scoring 29 points, 8 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import power forward Edward Morris (205-84, college: Pittsburg St.) chipped in 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Fukushima players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Shoji Nakanishi (190-82) with 24 points and 4 steals and American-Somalian forward Mohamed Abukar (208-85, college: San Diego St., agency: Two Points) scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. Newly promoted Fukushima maintains seventh position with 20-31 record. Shinshu BW lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 32 games lost. Fukushima will face again Shinshu BW (#8) in Nagano in the next round.
