Rather expected game when 7th ranked Kalisz (7-11) was smashed by fifth ranked Mickiewicz (9-9) in Katowice 89-47 on Saturday. The game without a history. Mickiewicz led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Kalisz's 32. They outrebounded Kalisz 56-23 including a 44-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Mickiewicz looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Kalisz's players. It was a very good performance for forward Tomasz Gembus (197-87) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Karol Leszczynski (190-87) contributed with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Mickiewicz players scored in double figures. Mickiewicz's coach Adam Kubaszczyk felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Swingman Jakub Kolodziej (186-86) replied with 18 points and guard Lukasz Wojciechowski (184-88) added 8 points in the effort for Kalisz. Mickiewicz maintains fifth position in Group F with 9-9 record. Loser Kalisz dropped to the sixth place with 11 games lost.
