There was a small surprise when fourteenth ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (12-18) defeated at home 11th ranked Paris-Levallois (15-15) 70-59 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 70-59. Pau-Lacq-Orthez dominated on the defensive end, holding Paris-Levallois to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Paris-Levallois was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Serbian forward Marko Simonovic (201-86, agency: Beo Basket) who scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. American forward Antywane Robinson (203-84, college: Temple) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Mike Green (185-85, college: Butler) who recorded 18 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Sharrod Ford (206-82, college: Clemson) added 8 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Paris-Levallois' coach Gregor Beugnot rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Pau-Lacq-Orthez moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Cholet and Rouen. Paris-Levallois at the other side dropped to the ninth position with 15 games lost. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will face higher ranked JDA Dijon (#9) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
