Regular Season Round 28: VL Pesaro - Giorgo Tesi PT 82-86

Very expected game when 15th ranked VL Pesaro (7-21) was defeated at home by eleventh ranked Tuscany Pistoia (12-15) 86-82. It looked good early as VL Pesaro took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Tuscany Pistoia had a 26-24 second period charge getting the lead and VL Pesaro was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 82-86. Tuscany Pistoia made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. It was a very good performance for American guard C.J. Williams (196-90, college: N.Carolina St.) who helped to win the game recording 26 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!). The other American import forward Landon Milbourne (201-87, college: Maryland) contributed with 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Tuscany Pistoia's coach Paolo Moretti allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward LaQuinton Ross (203-92, college: Ohio St.) replied with 23 points and 8 rebounds and Hungarian Peter Lorant (206-85, agency: Octagon Europe) added 21 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for VL Pesaro. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tuscany Pistoia moved-up to ninth place. VL Pesaro lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 21 games lost. They share it with JuveCaserta. Tuscany Pistoia will play against higher ranked Cimberio Varese at home in the next round. VL Pesaro will play against AV Cantu (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
