There was an upset when higher ranked Toyama Grouses (35-17) were defeated on the road by ninth ranked Gunma (19-33) 73-68 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 17 points after first quarter, but they rallied back winning two of next three quarters and won the game by 5 points. American forward Carlos Dixon (201-81, college: Virginia Tech) fired 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. His fellow American import power forward Daniel Northern (206-85, college: Tenn Tech, agency: R.H.Consultancy) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Four Gunma players scored in double figures. American forward Sam Willard (205-88, college: Pacific) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists and Joho Masashi (183-82) added 19 points respectively for lost side. Gunma moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Shinshu BW. Toyama Grouses at the other side keep the fifth position with 17 games lost.
