There was no surprise when 9th ranked CAI Zaragoza (15-15) was crushed at home by third ranked Regal FC Barcelona (20-9) 103-67 on Sunday. The game without a history. Regal FC Barcelona led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 18-of-18 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Regal FC Barcelona had a 25-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Regal FC Barcelona looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American Deshaun Thomas (201-91, college: Ohio St.) who scored 22 points. French Edwin Jackson (191-89, agency: Comsport) chipped in 13 points and 6 assists. Four Regal FC Barcelona players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Australian guard Chris Goulding (192-88) who recorded 19 points and Dutch center Henk Norel (214-87) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending champion maintains third position with 20-9 record having four points less than leader Unicaja. Loser CAI Zaragoza keeps the ninth place with 15 games lost. Regal FC Barcelona will face Blusens Monbus (#12) in Santoago de Comp in the next round and are hoping to win another game. CAI Zaragoza will play on the road against the league's leader Unicaja Malaga and hope to win that game.
