Very important is a home loss of third ranked Carugate (6-5) against fourth ranked San Salvatore (6-4) on Sunday night. Host Carugate was defeated by San Salvatore in Corugate 67-56. It was a key game for the second position in A2. Carugate was ahead by 3 points after three quarters before a 21-7 charge of San Salvatore, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Carugate to just 7 points in fourth quarter. San Salvatore forced 20 Carugate turnovers and outrebounded them 37-21 including a 22-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for center Lucia Di Costanzo (185-92) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Latvian forward Dita Rozenberga (180-92) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four San Salvatore players scored in double figures. Forward Patrizia De Gianni (191-88) replied with 12 points and 7 rebounds and guard Michela Frantini (175-83) added 12 points in the effort for Carugate. San Salvatore moved-up to second place in A2. Newly promoted Carugate dropped to the fourth position with five games lost.
