Regular Season Round 24: PAOK - Kolossos 77-72
Date: April 27, 2015
There was no surprise in Thessaloniki where 7th ranked Kolossos (12-12) was defeated by third ranked PAOK (17-7) 77-72. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 19-13 Kolossos' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 77-72 at the end of the game. PAOK players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by Kolossos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by American power forward Kevin Langford (204-85, college: TCU) who scored that evening 20 points (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and the other American import guard Jake Odum (193-91, college: Indiana St.) supported him with 14 points and 8 assists. Even 14 points and 5 assists by Angelos Tsamis (192-81) did not help to save the game for Kolossos. Antiguan-American forward Ernest Scott (201-82, college: Valdosta St.) added 8 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. PAOK have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 17-7 record having two points less than leader Olympiacos. Kolossos at the other side keeps the seventh place with 12 games lost. PAOK's next round opponent will be AEK Athens (#5) on the road. Kolossos will play against KAOD and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
