The game in Culiacan was also worth to mention about. Third ranked Fuerza Guinda Nogales (8-5) played at the court of 5th ranked Caballeros de Culiacan (6-7). Fuerza Guinda Nogales managed to secure a 9-point victory 97-88. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 30-14. But Caballeros de Culiacan won second period 25-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Fuerza Guinda Nogales won last quarter 28-21. They made 22-of-27 charity shots (81.5 percent) during the game. American Kenny Jones (198-84, college: Kentucky St.) nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import guard Jeremy Green (196-90, college: Stanford) accounted for 25 points and 6 rebounds. The former international point guard Pedro David Meza Rogel (186-85, college: Arizona W. CC) came up with 24 points and 5 assists (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and Jesus Gonzalez Martinez added 23 points respectively for Caballeros de Culiacan in the defeat. Five Fuerza Guinda Nogales and four Caballeros de Culiacan players scored in double figures. Fuerza Guinda Nogales maintains third place with 8-5 record having four points less than leader Guaymas. Caballeros de Culiacan lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. Fuerza Guinda Nogales will have a break next round. Caballeros de Culiacan will play again at home against Fuerza Guinda Nogales (#3) and hope to win that game.
