Regular Season Round 30: Hapoel T-A - Maccabi Rishon 80-69

The most important game in the last round took place in Tel-Aviv between third ranked Maccabi Rishon (17-14) and seventh ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (15-15) on Tuesday night. Maccabi Rishon was defeated by Hapoel Tel-Aviv on the road 69-80. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Maccabi Rishon. The game was mostly controlled by Hapoel Tel-Aviv. Maccabi Rishon managed to win second period 21-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hapoel Tel-Aviv looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Five Hapoel Tel-Aviv players scored in double figures. Hapoel Tel-Aviv's coach Oded Katash used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dominique Johnson (196-87, college: Azusa Pacific, agency: Higher Vision Sports) replied with 21 points and 4 assists and power forward Jackie Carmichael (206-90, college: Illinois St.) added 22 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Maccabi Rishon. Hapoel Tel-Aviv moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Maccabi Rishon at the other side keeps the third position with 14 games lost. Hapoel Tel-Aviv is looking forward to face Ironi Nes-Ziona (#8) in Nes Ziyona in the next round. Maccabi Rishon will play at home against Hapoel Eilat (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
