There was no surprise in Caracas where 9th ranked Panteras (7-27) were defeated by fourth ranked Trotamundos (20-12) 87-76 on Tuesday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 87-76. The best player for the winners was power forward Jesus Martinez (204-86) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. The former international point guard David Cubillan (181-87, college: Marquette) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. American power forward Justin Williams (206-84, college: Wyoming) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import point guard R.L. Horton (182-89, college: S.Mississippi) added 16 points and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Trotamundos have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 20-12 record. Panteras lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 27 games lost. Trotamundos will have a break next round.
