Regular Season Round 13: Guasave - Mazatlan 85-81

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Lobos UAD Mazatlan (8-4) against sixth ranked Frayles de Guasave (7-6) on Tuesday night. Visiting Lobos UAD Mazatlan was defeated by Frayles de Guasave in a tough game in Guasave 81-85. Lobos UAD Mazatlan was ahead by 11 points at the halftime before a 51-36 second half run of Frayles de Guasave. They made 20-of-24 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American Kevin Rogers (206-86, college: Baylor) who helped to win the game recording 39 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import forward Jamine Peterson (198-88, college: Providence) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Vincent Grier (195-83, college: Minnesota) answered with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and the former international swingman Jorge Alfredo Casillas (196-90) added 14 points and 4 assists in the effort for Lobos UAD Mazatlan. Frayles de Guasave moved-up to fourth place. Newly promoted Lobos UAD Mazatlan keeps the second position with four games lost. Frayles de Guasave will again play against league's second-placed Lobos UAD Mazatlan at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lobos UAD Mazatlan will have a break next round.
