Very important is a road loss of third ranked Toshiba Thunders (38-15) against sixth ranked Hokkaido L. (21-32) on Wednesday night. Visiting Toshiba Thunders were defeated by Hokkaido L. in a tough game in Saporro 69-78. The game without a history. Hokkaido L. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: Inception Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Masaharu Kataoka (190-85) chipped in 21 points. Senegalese swingman Mamadou Diouf (197-77, college: Delaware) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and the former international swingman Takahiro Kurihara (192-87) added 22 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hokkaido L. maintains sixth place with 21-32 record. Defending champion Toshiba Thunders dropped to the fourth position with 15 games lost. Hokkaido L. will have a break next round. Toshiba Thunders will play at home against the league's leader Hitachi Sunrockers (#1) and hope to win that game.
