Regular Season Round 47: Tsukuba R. - Tochigi Brex 68-87

Date: May 2, 2015
There was no surprise when 6th ranked Tsukuba R. (6-46) was crushed at home by second ranked Tochigi Brex (41-10) 87-68 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Tochigi Brex. Tsukuba R. was better in fourth quarter 24-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) who scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import center Kyle Barone (208-89, college: Idaho) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Duke Crews (203-88, college: Bowie St.) produced a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Kazuyuki Nakagawa (180-82) added 9 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the eleventh consecutive win for Tochigi Brex. They maintain second place with 41-10 record behind leader Hitachi SR. Tsukuba R. lost their seventh game in a row. They dropped to the fifth position with 46 games lost. Tochigi Brex will face Toyota Alvark (#3) in Tokyo in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Tsukuba R. will play on the road against Chiba Jets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
