Semi-Finals Game 3: Osnabruck - Veilchen 61-54

Osnabruck overcame Veilchen in the decisive third game of the Finals and celebrated the North conference title. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Veilchen won third quarter 8-7. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Osnabruck held Veilchen to an opponent 24.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 32.3 percent accuracy of the winners and made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Osnabruck made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for American forward Alysa Horn (182-90, college: Alaska-Anch.) who led her team to a victory scoring 14 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Melina Knopp (171-94) helped adding 11 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American power forward Nicole Jones (188-89, college: Drexel) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import guard Monique Smalls (168-91, college: Texas Tech) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
