Rather predictable result when twelfth ranked Chalon/Saor (15-16) won against at home 14th ranked SPO Rouen (12-19) 94-82 on Tuesday. Chalon/Saor dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to SPO Rouen's 26. They outrebounded SPO Rouen 42-24 including a 27-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Chalon/Saor looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by SPO Rouen's players. Quite impressive performance for American guard Jason Rich (191-86) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists. Mathias Lessort (205-95) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Michael Thompson (177-89, college: Northwestern, agency: APAA Sports Group) answered with 20 points and 4 assists and Jean-Michel Mipoka (198-85, agency: Comsport) added 11 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for SPO Rouen. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Chalon/Saor moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Dijon and Chalons-Reims. Newly promoted SPO Rouen keeps the fourteenth position with 19 games lost. Chalon/Saor will face higher ranked Paris-Levallois (#9) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. SPO Rouen will play against the league's leader Strasbourg IG (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
