Regular Season Round 31: Limoges - Le Mans 89-83

Very expected game when 8th ranked Le Mans (16-15) lost on the road to third ranked Limoges CSP Elite (21-10) 89-83 on Tuesday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 59-52 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Le Mans outrebounded Limoges CSP Elite 37-24 including 25 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. Limoges CSP Elite looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a very good performance for American guard Jamar Smith (191-87, college: S.Indiana, agency: Inception Sports) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 7 assists. American-Ukrainian point guard Eugene Jeter (180-83, college: Portland) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Five Limoges CSP Elite players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Rodrigue Beaubois (186-88, agency: Comsport) answered with 27 points and international Charles Kahudi (199-86, agency: Beo Basket) added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Le Mans. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending champion maintains third place with 21-10 record having six points less than leader Strasbourg. Loser Le Mans dropped to the seventh position with 15 games lost. Limoges CSP Elite will face JL Bourg (#17) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Le Mans will play against Sluc Nancy (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
