Regular Season Round 31: Bourg - Cholet 90-80

There was a minor upset when 15th ranked Cholet Basket (12-19) lost on the road to seventeenth ranked JL Bourg (8-23) 90-80 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by JL Bourg. Cholet Basket was better in fourth quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. JL Bourg dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Cholet Basket's 40. JL Bourg forced 19 Cholet Basket turnovers. Quite impressive performance for American point guard Jordan Theodore (182-89, college: Seton Hall) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. His fellow American import center Devin Booker (206-91, college: Clemson) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four JL Bourg players scored in double figures. American forward Kevin Jones (206-89, college: W.Virginia) answered with 12 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Rudy Jomby (196-88) added 17 points in the effort for Cholet Basket. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted JL Bourg maintains seventeenth place with 8-23 record. Loser Cholet Basket dropped to the fourteenth position with 19 games lost. JL Bourg will face higher ranked Limoges CSP Elite (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
