There was a minor upset when higher ranked Paris-Levallois (16-16) was defeated on the road by twelfth ranked Chalon/Saor (16-16) 70-64 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 70-64. Chalon/Saor dominated on the defensive end, holding Paris-Levallois to just 4 points in second quarter. They made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Paris-Levallois was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Eric Dawson (206-84, college: Midwestern St., agency: Haylett Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and guard Jason Rich (191-86) who added 14 points and 8 assists during the contest. Dawson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. point guard Mike Green (185-85, college: Butler) responded with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and power forward Sharrod Ford (206-82, college: Clemson) scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Paris-Levallois' coach Gregor Beugnot rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Chalon/Saor moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Paris-Levallois. Chalon/Saor will face Pau-Lacq-Orthez (#13) on the road in the next round where they are favorite.
