There was an upset when 4th placed STB Le Havre (19-14) was crushed on the road by tenth ranked Paris-Levallois (17-16) 81-59 on Tuesday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-59. Paris-Levallois dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to STB Le Havre's 24. They outrebounded STB Le Havre 50-31 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Landing Sane (207-90) who scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. American point guard Mike Green (185-85, college: Butler) chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Tyrone Brazelton (183-86, college: W.Kentucky, agency: Higher Vision Sports) who recorded 20 points and American-Dominican Ricardo Greer (196-77, college: Pittsburgh) added 9 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Paris-Levallois moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Gravelines and Chalon. Loser STB Le Havre keeps the fourth position with 14 games lost. Paris-Levallois will face higher ranked ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. STB Le Havre will play against Le Mans and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
