Regular Season Round 21: Hermosillo - Guasave 94-79

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Rayos de Hermosillo (14-8) defeated at home 7th ranked Frayles de Guasave (9-13) 94-79 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Rayos de Hermosillo. Frayles de Guasave managed to win second period 21-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rayos de Hermosillo looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The game was also dominated by American players. Forward Emmanuel Little (196-85, college: N.Dakota) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and forward Ramon Harris (201-88, college: Kentucky) chipped in 17 points. Little is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Rayos de Hermosillo's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was Kevin Rogers (206-86, college: Baylor) with 28 points and 9 rebounds and forward Ronald Selleaze (197-76, college: CSU Bakersfield) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Four Frayles de Guasave players scored in double figures. Rayos de Hermosillo have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Mazatlan. Frayles de Guasave lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 13 games lost. They share it with Los Mochis. Rayos de Hermosillo will meet league's leader Ostioneros de Guaymas on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Frayles de Guasave will play against Pioneros Los Mochis (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
