There was an upset when higher ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (13-21) lost to eighteenth ranked SO Maritime Boulogne (9-25) in Boulogne-sur-Mer 73-79 on Saturday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-6. But Pau-Lacq-Orthez won second period 25-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. SO Maritime Boulogne dominated on the defensive end, holding Pau-Lacq-Orthez to just 6 points in first quarter. It was a very good performance for American point guard Kenny Boynton (188-91, college: Florida) who helped to win the game recording 30 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). The other American import power forward Jason Boone (200-85, college: New York U.) contributed with 9 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Tyler Cain (203-88, college: S.Dakota) replied with 15 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Charles-Henri Bronchard (200-82, agency: Court Side) added 9 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Pau-Lacq-Orthez. Four Pau-Lacq-Orthez players scored in double figures. Pau-Lacq-Orthez's coach Claude Bergeaud rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. SO Maritime Boulogne have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventeenth place, which they share with Bourg. Pau-Lacq-Orthez lost third consecutive game.
