Regular Season Round 2: Patriotas T. - Llaneros 70-88

An interesting game for Llaneros (2-0) which played road game in Tunja against Patriotas T. (0-2). Llaneros had an easy win 88-70. The game was mostly controlled by Llaneros. Patriotas T. managed to win fourth quarter 26-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mexican-Puerto Rican guard Joseph Soto (190-93) notched 20 points, 6 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and Gabriel Belardo supported him with 23 points. Four Llaneros players scored in double figures. Even 21 points and 5 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) by naturalized Venezuelan swingman Hector Diaz (197-92) did not help to save the game for Patriotas T.. Center Rafael Gomez (200) added 12 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Llaneros will meet at home Academia (#5) in the next round. Patriotas T. will play against Piratas (#8) in Bogota and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
