Regular Season Round 2: Academia - Astros 80-94

The most surprising game was a loss of Academia (1-1) in Montaa on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Astros (1-1) 94-80. The game without a history. Astros led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 19 Academia turnovers. Astros shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. American guard Brandon Provost (190-90, college: UTRGV) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. International point guard Leonardo Salazar (175-93) contributed with 23 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Astros players scored in double figures. Puerto Rican-Dominican forward Jonathan Rodriguez (196-87, college: Campbell) replied with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Dominican point guard Cesar Chavez Jacobo (196-85, college: St.Thomas, FL) added 19 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Academia. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Astros is looking forward to face Manizales (#4) at home in the next round. Academia will play against Llaneros and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
