Regular Season Round 2: Piratas - Bucaros 75-77

Important game to mention about took place in Bogota. Bucaros (2-0) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging Piratas (0-2) 77-75 on Saturday evening. It looked good early as Piratas took a 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Bucaros had a 25-11 second period charge getting the lead and Piratas were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 75-77. Bucaros forced 20 Piratas turnovers. American forward Arnold Louis (201-90, college: Savannah St.) scored 20 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Jordan Demercy (201-88, college: Georgetown, KY, agency: Blacktop Management) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Venezuelan guard Jovanni Diaz (195-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and American guard Brandon Givens (198-87, college: NC-Wesleyan) scored 23 points. Bucaros will play against UBC Muiscas (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Piratas will play against Patriotas T. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
