Regular Season Round 4: Piratas - Patriotas T. 101-59
Date: July 29, 2015
Bottom-ranked Patriotas T. (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 101-59 loss to eighth ranked Piratas (2-2) in Bogota. The game without a history. Piratas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The winners were led by American guard Brandon Givens (198-87, college: NC-Wesleyan) who scored that evening 36 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and Puerto Rican guard Cliff Duran (191-89) supported him with 18 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. Givens is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Piratas players scored in double figures. Even 9 points and 8 rebounds by naturalized Venezuelan swingman Hector Diaz (197-92) did not help to save the game for Patriotas T.. E Migua added 6 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Piratas moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Aguilas and Academia. Patriotas T. at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Piratas will have a break next round. Patriotas T. will play against the league's leader Bucaros (#1) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
