Regular Season Round 6: Astros - Halcones 81-73

Date: August 1, 2015
No shocking result in a game when second ranked Astros (5-1) beat at home 5th ranked Halcones (3-3) 81-73 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-73. Astros shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. American guard Brandon Provost (190-90, college: UTRGV) notched 35 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and international point guard Leonardo Salazar (175-93) supported him with 17 points and 5 assists. Even 21 points by Jose Manaures did not help to save the game for Halcones. Venezuelan swingman Jesus Medina (188-94) added 13 points and 5 rebounds. Five Halcones players scored in double figures. Astros have an impressive five-game winning streak. Newly promoted Astros maintains second position with 5-1 record behind leader Bucaros. Halcones at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the fifth place with three games lost. Astros will meet at home UBC Muiscas (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Halcones will play against Llaneros (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
