Regular Season Round 6: Nanjin Army - Henan 79-101

Bottom-ranked Nanjin Army (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 101-79 loss to third ranked Henan (4-1) in Nanjin. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. The game without a history. Henan led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Nanjin Army's 28. They outrebounded Nanjin Army 42-26 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for American forward Tiny Gallon (206-91, college: Oklahoma, agency: Three Eye Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds. Guard YuXing Yang (195-95) contributed with 18 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Guard Ming-Yu Liu (192-91) replied with 15 points and 6 rebounds and forward Jingwei Wang (200-94) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Nanjin Army. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Henan moved-up to second place, which they share with Anhui and Guayzhou. Nanjin Army at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Henan will play against Guayzhou (#4) in the next round. Nanjin Army will play against Beijing (#8) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
