Beijing can celebrate finally their first win this season after five consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Nanjin Army (0-7) 100-86 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 22-20 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 14-point victory in overtime. Beijing dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Nanjin Army's 40. Beijing forced 26 Nanjin Army turnovers. It was a great evening for forward Han Qiaowen (195-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Yitao Sun (198-89) helped adding 23 points and 7 rebounds. Beijing's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side guard Ming-Yu Liu (192-91) responded with 23 points and 8 rebounds and forward Jingwei Wang (200-94) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Nanjin Army players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Beijing maintains eighth place with 1-5 record. It was Nanjin Army's seventh loss in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. Beijing will meet higher ranked Guayzhou (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nanjin Army will play against the league's leader Shaanxi W. (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
