Regular Season Round 7: Heilongjiang - Guangxi 109-108

Important game to mention about took place in Heilongjiang. Sixth ranked Heilongjiang (3-3) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 5th ranked Guangxi (2-4) 109-108 in the fight for the fifth place. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 27-19. But Guangxi won second period 27-26. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Guangxi was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Marcus Williams (200-86, college: Arizona) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 9 assists. Forward Shuai Liu (196-95) contributed with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. British power forward Ryan Richards (212-91, agency: Three Eye Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 13 rebounds and guard Dingjie Wang (183-88) added 18 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Guangxi. Five Heilongjiang and four Guangxi players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Heilongjiang moved-up to fifth place. Defending champion Guangxi dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Heilongjiang will play against league's second-placed Anhui in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Guangxi will play against Henan (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
