Regular Season Round 8: Anhui - Heilongjiang 109-99

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Anhui (6-1) beat at home 5th ranked Heilongjiang (3-4) 109-99 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Anhui. Heilongjiang managed to win second period 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Anhui forced 21 Heilongjiang turnovers. American Darnell Jackson (203-85, college: Kansas) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 20 rebounds. Guard YongGang Zhang (198-88) contributed with 24 points for the winners. American swingman Marcus Williams (200-86, college: Arizona) replied with a double-double by scoring 45 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds and forward Xiaoliang Yu (197-93) added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Heilongjiang. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Anhui have an impressive five-game winning streak. Newly promoted Anhui maintains second position with 6-1 record behind leader Shaanxi W., which they share with Guayzhou. Loser Heilongjiang keeps the fifth place with four games lost. Anhui is looking forward to face Henan (#4) at home in the next round. Heilongjiang will play against Lhasa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
