Regular Season Round 8: Guayzhou - Beijing 113-92

Very expected game when 8th ranked Beijing (1-6) was smashed on the road by third ranked Guayzhou (6-1) 113-92 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Guayzhou. Beijing managed to win fourth quarter 32-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Guayzhou dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Beijing's 52. American forward Tyler Wilkerson (203-88, college: Marshall) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds. Swingman Delong Weng (195-87) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Forward Han Qiaowen (195-91) replied with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Yanan Li (198-92) added 24 points in the effort for Beijing. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guayzhou have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Anhui. Newly promoted Beijing keeps the eighth position with six games lost. Guayzhou is looking forward to face league's leader Shaanxi W. in Xian in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Beijing will play on the road against Guangxi (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
