Regular Season Round 7: Astros - UBC Muiscas 89-75
Date: August 8, 2015
Very predictable result when second ranked Astros (7-1) defeated at home bottom-ranked UBC Muiscas (0-8) 89-75 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Astros. UBC Muiscas was better in third quarter 27-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Astros forced 22 UBC Muiscas turnovers. It was a great evening for American guard Brandon Provost (190-90, college: UTRGV) who led his team to a victory scoring 29 points. International point guard Leonardo Salazar (175-93) helped adding 17 points and 6 rebounds. Four Astros players scored in double figures. Astros' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Vincentian guard Chris Telesford (193-88, college: Columbus St.) responded with 17 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized American swingman Michael Dodd (196-86, college: Hunter) scored 23 points. Astros have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Newly promoted Astros maintains second place with 7-1 record having just -1 point less than leader Bucaros. UBC Muiscas at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with eight games lost. Astros will face Academia (#7) in Montaa in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. UBC Muiscas will play at home against Piratas and hope to get finally their first victory.
