Liga DirecTV top team - Bucaros (10-0) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Halcones (3-7) 100-73. The game without a history. Bucaros led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great shooting night for Bucaros especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Halcones' players. American forward Arnold Louis (201-90, college: Savannah St.) nailed a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and American-Dominican swingman Wilson Pilarte (193, college: Bloomfield) accounted for 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Bucaros players scored in double figures. Jose Manaures came up with 23 points and Venezuelan power forward Jesus Martinez (204-86) added 6 points and 14 rebounds respectively for Halcones in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Bucaros. Newly promoted Bucaros maintains first place with 10-0 record. Halcones lost their sixth game in a row. Halcones at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the seventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Manizales. Bucaros will meet Academia (#5) in the next round. Halcones will have a break next round.
