Regular Season Round 9: Aguilas - Patriotas T. 107-83

Very expected game when 10th ranked Patriotas T. (1-9) was smashed by fourth ranked Patriotas (6-4) in Boyaca 107-83. The game without a history. Patriotas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Patriotas shot the lights out from three nailing 18 long-distance shots on high 52.9 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Patriotas T.'s players. The best player for the winners was American Jereal Scott (203-89, college: SF Austin) who scored 27 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import guard Michael Sneed (196-82, college: Texas Southern) chipped in 27 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Sneed is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Patriotas players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Venezuelan forward Luis Almanza (196-91) who recorded 23 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) and American guard De'Sean Mattox (185, college: E.Oregon) added 20 points and 5 assists respectively. Patriotas T.'s coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Defending champion maintains fourth place with 6-4 record, which they share with Piratas. Patriotas T. lost their sixth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Patriotas' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Astros and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Patriotas T. will play against Manizales (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
