Regular Season Round 10: Aguilas - Astros 84-78

The most important game in the last round took place in Boyaca between second ranked Astros (8-3) and fourth ranked Patriotas (7-4) on Friday night. Astros were defeated by Patriotas in a tough game on the road 78-84. Astros trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 21-15 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 78-84 at the end of the game. Patriotas had a 31-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Michael Sneed (196-82, college: Texas Southern) scored 28 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Nigerian-American guard Henry Uhegwu (191-82, college: S.Utah) chipped in 31 points during the contest. Sneed is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American guard Deandre Williams (188-87, college: Palm Beach Atl.) responded with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and his fellow American import guard Brandon Provost (190-90, college: UTRGV) scored 20 points. Four Patriotas and five Astros players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains fourth position with 7-4 record. Newly promoted Astros dropped to the third place with three games lost. Patriotas are again looking forward to face higher ranked Astros (#3) in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Astros will have a break next round.
