Regular Season Round 13: Henan - Shaanxi W. 99-94

Round 13 in NBL means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Henan where host Henan (9-3) beat league's leader Shaanxi W. (10-2) 99-94 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Shaanxi W.. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 99-94. 30 personal fouls committed by Shaanxi W. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Tiny Gallon (206-91, college: Oklahoma, agency: Three Eye Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 47 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds for the winners. Guard YuXing Yang (195-95) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. American power forward Walter Sharpe (206-86, college: UAB) produced a double-double by scoring 30 points and 12 rebounds and guard Xiang Liqing (189-92) added 34 points (!!!) (made all of his eight free throws) respectively for lost side. Henan have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 9-3 record. Shaanxi W. at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Guayzhou. Shaanxi W. will play next round against Beijing trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Henan will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
